The new 2007 Ars Collecta 456 Gran Reserva is an homage to the 456 harvests at Codorníu, with a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Xarello from their best vineyards aged for over 90 months in bottle. The extended aging gave it smoky, yeasty and deep aromas. The mouthfeel is polished but the dosage feels pretty evident (12 grams of sugar), which makes it slightly banal and masks the character, making it certainly more commercial. The price seems exaggerated.
