Issue 241 End of February 2019, The Wine Advocate | 28th Feb 2019 | Luis Gutiérrez
The 2016 Pittacum is a Mencía from different vineyards in Bierzo and matured in oak barrel for eight months. It has a leafy and herbal character, with wild berries, herbs and a spicy twist. It also has quite a lot of tannin and still needs some time in bottle or powerful food. I found it a little hard.
