The white 2016 Blanc is a blend of 90% Macabeo and 10% Parellada grapes from old vineyards across the appellation, fermented separately, then blended and transferred, 60% of the volume to 400-liter oak foudres and the rest to concrete vats, where it matured until bottling in February 2018. Unfortunately, it felt very reductive after the extremely recent bottling, with some aromas of sulfur that made it difficult to read the nose. But the palate revealed a finessed and delineated white with good balance and freshness. A characterful white that is going to require a few more months in oak.
